Red Sun Imperium Embassy, Arimistice Station
The Imperial's hold inside of the Armstice Station had always been a heavily guarded compound, however as of recent security has been increased heavily. To the note of the other foreign powers aboard it would not seem so. Outside, several Imperium army guards remain outside, protecting the entrances into the Imperium's territory. However, if one were able to peer inside of the highly secretive enclave, it would be bustling with activity. Under the guise of ambassadors, Black Suns have infiltrated the station and had begun to assemble quiet the force. An "unofficial" special force of the Imperial Marine, Black Suns were notably always involved with the Office of Military Intelligence. They were trained to be able to blend in relatively well with most humans, as their stature and augments were often kept to a minimum, or added in a more discreet matter in order to keep a low profile.
The fact that they remained less augmented than the rest of the Imperium's marine force put them seemingly at a disadvantage. However, they were still an elite unit employed by the Imperium and a highly selective group. Their operatives were highly trained to complete a wide variety of black ops mission, and their presence aboard the station, could be a sign of the Imperium planning a more sinister move.

Second Lieutenant Lubomir Niemec's life dream had been to join the military. Growing up in a slum in one of the poorest cities on Europa would do that to anyone: New Warsaw was a shithole of a shitty. Located in the north pole of the planet of Europa, the city had primarily begun as an independent Polish colony, but the USC annexed it just forty years after its establishment to house its myriads of long-range RADAR dishes. A lot of funding was thrown at the city to modernise it and bring it up to speed with the rest of the Coalition, but the corrupt local government and rampant crime syndicates hadn't made it easy. It was only in the last few decades that the US Military had sent its forces in to pacify the slums.
Lubomir had been eleven at the time and had grown up in the slum; his home, a broken down cargo container, had been removed after the battles were over. But the Military had stepped in, sending all the orphan children to military-funded orphanages and paying for their education. Many saw it as a trick to get people to enlist, but Lubomir knew the truth: the military had no shortage of recruits. It was just doing its duty and protecting the weak. A former Marine officer who taught US History at school had taken him under his wing, and by age sixteen, he had already decided to join the Marine Corps.
His mentor had used his pull to get him accepted into the prestigious US Marine Security Guards, a placement envied by most soldiers on active duty because of the safe assignments, excellent pay and good promotion prospects, but he hated it. For months he had tried to get an assignment to somewhere with a little more excitement, where the job did not involve staring at other guards and waiting for someone to try and do something stupid. He had power armor, but it had never seen action. He had a rifle, but he had never fired it.
The three other guards at the door weren't as annoyed at their choice of occupation: they had all served for longer than him and recognised the job for what it was. A way up. They did not mistake it for selfless service. They were mercenaries, in essence, despite what the officers told them. They did not exactly enjoy sitting in one place for hours, but they preferred it to 'cattle duty' or being assigned to Talarin Outpost, the hell of the Marine Corps.
Another quiet day, another tense stare-down with the Zeleniyan and UCFP guards. Since the war between the UCFP and the SRZ had begun, the two sides had been as tense as ever, with the USC standing in the diplomatic sidelines. USC ambassadors had made no contact with either side outside council meetings, of which there had been none for several days, and an internal memo had instructed troops to keep their distance. So everyone was surprised when a diplomat emerged from the blastdoor that lead to the USC embassy, ordering two of the guards outside to follow. Lubomir volunteered, desperate for some action, but he instead found himself going to a not so distant place: across the hall to the UCFP embassy. The short, bald-headed diplomat flashed his identification card at the guards outside, keeping a neutral expression.
"Torstein Hummel, US Department of Foreign Policy. I request to speak with the Ambassador."

One of the marine security guards snuffs a lit cigarette with the heel of his shined dress boot, his white gloved left hand takes hold of his rifle. He clicks his heel together, "Official credentials, sir?" asks the marine, once they are produced and verified the envoy is let onto the embassy grounds, going through a series of checks, an additional background check, a full body scan and a traditional pat down. The envoy is then led into the ambassador's chambers, a man with dirty blonde hair and pinstripe business attire is sat behind the desk.

"Wait here." instructed the envoy, and the two US Marines responded with a crisp salute as they made way for the UCFP guards to do their job without interference; the two soldiers were clad from top to tie in a lighter model of power armour used by the United Systems: the CBT-50X. The fully sealed environmental suit used artificial muscles 'grown' through carbon nanotube processing, materials that contracted or expanded depending on the electrical charge applied to them. Far lighter than any servomotor or actuator used by the USC's heavier armours, the myomeres were not exactly a new concept, but nobody had bothered using them for anything other than civilian applications until the 25th century. Armed with SCAR MK37 battle rifles, the Marine guards stood aside, throwing cautious glances towards the SRZ embassy entrance.
In the meantime, the envoy followed his escort through the checks; he had nothing to fear, after all. His credentials seemed to be unquestionably valid: he was a high ranking official in the US Department of Foreign Policy, specializing in negotiation with foreign military powers regarding achieving common goals, he had top security clearance in the US Foreign Office and the Department of Defence, had been granted plenipotentiary powers by Congress and the President of the United Systems, and had served aboard Armistice Station for several years. The body scan showed absolutely nothing of importance, save for a pack of expensive cigars and a metal lighter to go with them, which would have been handed over to security if requested.
The short, balding man was dressed as officially as one could: a made-to-measure black suit that no doubt cost more than a few thousand of the taxpayers' dollars, matching shoes and thick, dark-rimmed glasses to correct the aging representative's presbyopia. Adding to the official aura of the man was a small pin of the United Systems flag, as well as the dark briefcase containing a lifetime readings' worth of paperwork. He nodded briefly upon seeing the ambassador, extending his hand at the man in a formal greeting. "Good morning, mister Ambassador. I am sorry to bother you at this time, but I believe that a discussion is in order regarding several subjects... Our neighbours amongst them."

Armistice Station Conference Room
Within the Conference Chambers, there's a flicker of light, then, for the first time in almost two centuries, the Valkari Councilor's chair is occupied. In the chair sits a holographic representation of a Valkari clad in a white cloak, his hood lowered. Emperor Nevaras. The facsimile flickers and warps on occasion. After all, the technology is certainly outdated- by two hundred years. He slouches in his seat, looking to the other representatives, his eyes narrowed.
"I apologize for the delay, councilors. I was.. otherwise occupied." He looks to the Commonwealth's representative, offering a brief nod, before returning his attention to the remaining representatives. "There is much to discuss, and I imagine you have wasted much time squabbling amongst yourselves."

The Delegate from New Terra wasn't very surprised at the profound 'arrival' of the Valkarian Emperor and he only offered a casual nod in return, his nonchalance was most likely the result of him being on the station for only about a week. The old Imperial Delegation developed an unsavory reputation and they became compared to the old Earth animal Hyena in that they were cowards, scavengers and always traveled in a pack. After the coup or 'revolution' as some would say the New Terran delegate position changed hands almost six times nearing a weekly basis by the time the current transfer sat the chair.
He sat relaxed in his chair looking at the Valkarian Emperor, waiting for him to speak.
The Familiar 'delegate' seemed uncaring towards his imperial majesty's arrival; either out of previous expectations or simply because they were unimpressed, perhaps finding it an insignificant event. Regardless, they aimed their bright-lit, beacon-like eyes towards the emperor's vicinity.

"Councilors, as you aware, we stand at the precipice of an abyss deeper than any of us have ever known." He pauses. The holographic depiction of the Emperor looks down for a moment."Yet- you squabble and fight amongst yourselves."His white eyes, with their diminutive pupils, flash back up towards the council.
"This is foolish. We are bound together, here and now, to this one, common fate. If we do not seek a solution, together, and find a power source capable of sustaining all of us, we will fall into dust. And not simply because without a new source of fuel we will wither and die. But because we share common enemies that will choose this time to strike." He tilts his head back up. "I speak of the Alarei. They may have been wounded, but they are like a cornered beast. My spies have heard whispers- whispers of a massive flotilla of Alarei vessels. This..armada.. will not simply let such a chance pass them by."
The Familiar remains, its facial mask twitching as usual. Although, to those paying sufficient attention, a certain flicker may or may not be seen in the bright holes that form the mask's 'eyes' at the mention of the alleged Alarei fleet. It does not, however, seem all too bothered by the highness' accusations as to collective diplomatic impairment and incapability, almost as if having removed itself and the group it represents from the offensive equation, the autocrat's arrogant insults lost on the being entirely. The figure's 'gaze' remains set upon the emperor, luminescent voids aiming at him with undying continuance; creeping over his holographic face as if studying it elaborately, yet uncaring for most of the words that its mouth emits. The stare, so full of worrying presence, yet so empty in ways inexplicable.
The Familiar's mask continues its twitching, its 'attention' remaining with the monarch's address.
"The Alarei have been destroyed, any who remain are most likely contending with far bigger problems than our own, furthermore if they do have this mythical fleet how do they power it and keep it logistically supported? If this fleet attacks how does it plan to manage what it conquers with such a low population? Furthermore even old Earth was capable of fighting the Alarei and inflicting casualties, our societies have advanced since then and they are only operating with obsolete ships.
We've all heard of this migrant fleet of Alarei wandering the Galaxy to find a home or to get revenge but I'm pretty sure they have much greater concerns than invading several Galactic powers." he waited for the Emperor's response.

Armistice Station Space Around Defense Sector
In the midst of the proceedings between the various races at the wonderous Armistice Station, a strange signal would suddenly be detected by the traffic controllers present at their stations. What would be visible as a bright flash of violet energy to the naked eyes at the stations many windows would be picked up as a powerful warp signature... A single, alien starcraft as it ripped into realspace. Such was an alien spacecraft that had never before been seen at the station; one the size of a large frigate. If the station's defense perimeter was to initiate scans of the ship, they would immediately be able to note that the craft did not have any weapon systems active, although great energy patterns were originating from its warp drives, as well as the strange electrical field resonating from its hull.
The alien frigate would keep its distance for now; using light RCS thrusters burts to maneuver in place, at least in respect to the movements of the Council Station. The only visible activity, besides these thruster bursts, coming from the frigate would be the launch of several escort fighters from the frigates tiny aft launch bay. These fighters keep reasonably close to their mother ship, and fly slow circles around it in a defensive manner. The ship continues to wait, sending no messages yet. It is as if they are awaiting a message from the Station to greet them...

USS Gridley (DDG-101) United Systems Navy Armistice Detachment Combat Information Center
"General quarters, general quarters, all hands man your battlestations! Routes to general quarters stations are: starboard side, up and for, port side down and end. Gunnery stations, stand by for targeting solutions! Set condition 1SQ for nuclear missile launch!"
The USS Gridley, DDG-101, was one of the newest members of the Farragut class of destroyer: with a length of almost seven hundred and fifty meters, the improperly named cruisers had been built for the defence of stationary bases, colonies or other points of interest, and as such it was deadly at short ranges due to the destructive 'killzones' its broadside and topside batteries could create. Indeed, each Farragut class destroyer could wreck an entire wing of enemy fighters without breaking a sweat by switching all of its batteries to flak, while missile launchers took care of any larger enemies.
Or it could turn those batteries into deadly anti-ship weapons.
By the time the Commanding Officer arrived on the bridge, the entire ship had been alerted to the sudden appearance of the enemy frigate, and it had attempted to remain 'ultraquiet' so that the aliens would not detect the destroyer's presence. They needed the element of surprise, and they needed it badly. "What have we got?" asked the Commander, stepping up to the command table. The ship was running on passive RADAR, using the active RADAR on Armistice station to track its targets without giving its own position away.
"One enemy frigate just jumped a few dozen kilometers from our starboard bow, they seem to be inert for the moment. According to these readings, they may have kept their FTL drive on hot stand-by, but in any case we have a window of opportunity before their jump system cools down." explained the XO in turn, throwing a brief glance at the gunnery officers. They seemed busy, yelling at the radio for each battery to acquire a fix on the enemy ship.
"Batteries have fixed target bearing, we have acquired a fix on their engine compartment!" yelled the superior gunnery officer, some thickly accented second-generation Zeleniyan immigrant, and the commander's hands glided over the holographic console as he pressed his fingers on several points. The nuclear warheads were still being loaded into the tubes, but if he could disable the enemy engines, or even the reactor, the battle would get a lot easier.
"Commence fire, all batteries! Bring active RADAR online, stand by to launch the alert fighters! We are going to engage!"
Almost a full two minutes after the alien frigate appeared near the Armistice station, it got the message it had been waiting for. A hostile USC signature, cruiser sized, appeared on sensors half a second before a full broadside from the ship's starboard batteries commenced, with most shots aimed at the engine compartment of the Kal'bavakorian ship. The human destroyer's engines activated and it begun accelerating forward after finishing the first barrage, trying to evade any return fire while waiting for the anti-ship batteries to reload.
A few seconds later, several radiation signatures appeared within the human ship: nuclear torpedoes, being prepared for launch.
Having declared war against the Kal'bavakorians, the Coalition seemed determined to keep them as far away from the centre of diplomacy in the galaxy as possible. And it hoped to do it under the pretence of 'security'. Armistice was too important to be allowed to perish at the hand of the aliens, it would later argue. It could work, and the Commander of the ship knew it.

D.K.M. Fuchtel. The newly modernized Type 42 destroyer waited at the head of the formation as D.K.M. New Frankfurt resupplied from the logistics craft M.S.V. Bridget. Their 2 month patrol mission had come to resupply and finally complete their overall objective, the virgin mission to Armistice to install the first Coalition diplomats in a wide scale organization like this one. Though the specifications of the security team were on the highest security levels and secret even to the the commander of the voyage. However it was assumed that Otto Bengtsson would be amongst them for the opening phases of establishing the embassy. The voice of the captain of Fuchtel came to life over the comms units of each bridge.
"Alright, lets put a halt on moving new ammunition into Frankfurt's ammo deck, we aren't going in their guns blazing so we can just move it while the delegation heads onto the station and we're already far enough behind schedule. Bridget, is the ambassador and her security team all loaded up on Frankfurt?".
Once he had gotten his affirmatives from either craft, the ships warmed up their engines. Then following Fuchtel, they jumped. ________________________________________________________________
06G
Fuchtel's body appeared in the space surrounding the station, the collision lights illuminating the flag of the Coalition putting it on full display for the inhabitants of the station, for the purpose of the first Coalition diplomatic mission, the old flag of the Anglo-Germanic-Swedish League was painted alongside it, though outdated and unused, it was put there to show the Coalitions origin and perhaps win over any human nations present there.
"All craft, hold in low defensive until ordered otherwise."
It would take a moment before the bridge would erupt into various beeps and other alarms.
"Sir! We've got radiological alarms coming from the ships to our 120 degree!".
"Sir, we got heat signatures on their weapons, looks they're active and have just been used.".
Fuck, had he hit the one in eight million chance that his navigation unit would send him to the wrong sector and drop him in a war-zone? No, not possible Frankfurt and Bridget had arrived as well, and Armistice was dead center. Slamming his hand on the transmit button.
"Navy group, all power and assets into defensive systems. I'm getting those ships and the station on Tachyon."
His head switched to the comm-commander.
"Two tachyons. Armistice and those ships. Now."
Within a moment the two lines were opened, Armistice and the U.S.S. Gridley with the same, repeating message until the comms channel was opened on their end. Due to the relatively low amount of interaction the Coalition has had with Alien life forms, it would only broadcast in all known Earthen languages, Cisri and the language of the Alarei.
"This is the D.K.M Fuchtel, Type 42 Destroyer of the Coalition of Cleansed Territories navy, we request that you open communications with us as soon as possible. This message will repeat."

Armistice Station Outer Sector, Alliance Frigate 'Peace Unto All'
Captain Shalla Van'Dal had expected this. Svu'Kavsi Intelligence, and her own intuition, placed the probability of the Coalition being a member of the Galactic Council as high as ninety nine point nine eight percent. Because of this, instead of sending an Alliance Diplomacy Corps craft to bring the Ambassador and her team to the station, she demanded an Alliance Frigate be placed under her command for the time being. Of course, while Ambassador Yalla Ba'Dun fiercely rejected this idea, as it may provoke conflict at the station, Alliance Command agreed they could not take the risk. They even uploaded a wonderful new name to the ships registry just for this task, and the frigate was re-named the "Peace Unto All"; a name worthy of the crews mission.
Unfortunately, it seemed Ambassador Ba'Dun's fears have reigned true. While the Captain awaited a transmission from Armistice Station, tapping the chin-plate of her helmet as she stared at her command display with great impatience, a cry rose from the Tracking Officer just to her side.
"Lady Captain, Coalition craft has appeared on weapons tracking; Cruiser-Class. We've received multiple locks on our engine compartment!"
No time to waste. The Lady Captain screeched from her command chair,"Combat Officer, initiate evasive maneuvers and sound evasive alarm. Move us to mark one seven niner, bearing seven seven three five.. I want a hundred and eighty degree burn over that cruiser! All combat stations, status alert."
"Lady Captain, engines are on full power; overclocking has been engaged. Evasion stations are prepped and ready."
"Lady Captain, kinetic barriers are powering up. Twenty seconds till' full power. Point defenses and decoy buoys are prepped."
With a stark reply of confirmation, Captain Van'Dul and the rest of the frigate's crew began wrapping themselves in inertia webbing; a substance that covered the majority of their bodies, kept them connected to their seats, and protected their internals from high Gs and the insane maneuvers the Frigate was about to perform. Alliance Frigates, while well armed and carrying enough forces to engage pirates and the like, carry light armor and some of the most powerful thruster and engine tech in the Galaxy. Alliance Frigates are well known for making maneuvers that would snap other navy's ships in half, and kill their crew in second; making them more than adept at flying patrols, or breaking a hostile blockade.. Something needed greatly in this instance.
Captain Van'Dal was inputting a new set of orders into her console, and was preparing to initiate the combat phase of the operation, when the Comms Officer suddenly shouted from his seat.
"Lady Captain, we're receiving a message from the Ambassador on Deck Five. She says it is extremely urgent!"
She couldn't wait? With a snarl, Lady Captain Van'Dul replied with a harsh bark,"Link her into my HUD."
Within' a split second of such an order, the angry voice of the Ambassador filled the Captains ears. While this interruption in a very tense time period was stressing her greatly, the Ambassadors demands were not something to be unheeded.
++-"Captain, you cannot engage the Coalition forces in this space. A show of force by the Alliance in Council space will strengthen the resolve of the Coalition, and may even have us turned away. You fire back, we may as well tie a noose around our throat here."-++
++-"Ambassador, we have lives at sta-...'-++
++-"LISTEN TO ME.. You shoot back, and we are dead, both diplomatically and physically. Keep us away from the Coalition, and I'll send a transmission to the Council Station with your permission."-++
++-"Get it done Ambassador.. And hurry."-++
The Captain cut the channel to the Ambassador and, with a snarl, began inputting another set of commands into her console. She shouts out to the Navigation Officer as she does so.
"Navigations, yank power from our weapons to overlock our engines.. I want some serious evasive manuevers as we go over that Coalition tin-can!"
The reply from the Navigation Officer was a silent one. He had already set to work with his comrades, with their mission a wholly dangerous one..
The Alliance Frigate, almost immediately upon initiating combat with the Coalition Destroyer, initiates a powerful burn from its engine systems. With afterburners engaged to full, and RCS thrusters yanking the ship into a steep climb, the Alliance Frigate performs a mind-boggling increase of speed that sends is barreling towards, and eventually above, the Coalition spacecraft. Performing a second maneuver, the Alliance Frigate initiates a roll on its axis, a barrel roll of sorts, as it shoots over the Coalition craft with a few kilometers to spare. The maneuver causes the top of the Alliance Frigate to come face to face with the top of the Coalition craft; the Alliance ship bringing its tough upper side to face with the lighter armed top section of the Coalition Destroyer. With its maneuver finished, the Alliance Frigate returns to its original upright position, and barrels towards Armistice Station.
Of course, the Alliance ship did not escape 'unscathed'. The first volley of shots from the destroyer mostly miss due to the initial burst of speed from the frigate; flying past the craft and tunneling deep into space. The multiple shots that do connect are met with something humanity has, up until this point, never faced..
Shielding technology.
The rounds impact the outer shell of the Alliance Frigate, and either bounce off or are immediately disintegrated by the shimmering blue energy field projected around the entire star ship. The field, having taken multiple direct hits, shimmers brightly for a few seconds before it re-energizes, and becomes invisible once more to the naked eye, and the general sensor.
As the Alliance Frigate begins its quick-paced journey towards Armistice Station, a communication signal is suddenly transmitted from the craft. The voice projected by it, clearly female and garbled by an unknown alien accent, is rather calm given its tense situation. It is being transmitted to all spacecraft in the general vicinity, as well as Armistice Station itself.
++-"Attention all craft and Armistice Station, this is Ambassador Yalla Ba'Dun of the Alliance transmitting from the Frigate "Peace Unto All". Our craft has come under attack by Coalition forces, and we have not returned fire. We are requesting immediate assistance, and permission to dock with the station. We have brought diplomatic resources, and wish to initiate contact with the Council Races. Please assist."-++
USS Gridley (DDG-101) United Systems Navy Armistice Detachment Combat Information Center
"Enemy craft has commenced evasive maneuvers, gun batteries are attempting to track!"
"Tubes one through four have been loaded, torpedo tube doors are opening!"
Just as the Kal'bavakorian craft begun its engine burn, four radiation signatures appeared on local sensors, located directly on the Gridley's hull: nuclear ship-to-ship torpedoes. The four warheads were pushed forward by some unseen mechanism, their sharp armor-piercing casings emerging from within the thick hull of the warship, and their firing safeties were removed. A targeting package was loaded into their computers, set for cascading detonations across the hull of the frigate so that the electromagnetic pulse could shut down all electronics within the craft and hopefully render it inert. Apparently, the Coalition didn't plan on destroying the craft, at least not with a nuclear weapon.
The plan was simple, really: disable the craft's engines with a few well-placed railgun rounds, use an EMP to disable their electronics, and then board them in order to capture prisoners and technology under the pretense of neutralizing an enemy threat. The electronic counter measure system was still initializing, but when it did, the Commander of the USS Gridley fully intended to jam all communications to and from the alien craft.
And then the unthinkable happened: the railgun rounds detonated several meters away from the craft's hull. The CO was about to ask for an explanation, but one of the officers in the CIC was kind enough to predict the question: "Enemy frigate has deployed some kind of energy field, our railgun shots were intercepted! They are trying to run!"
"Right full rudder, reverse starboard engines! Emergency turn!" yelled the Commander, staring at the command table as the alien frigate ran towards the station. A klaxon sounded, followed by an announcement by the Chief of the Boat: "All hands, all hands, brace for emergency maneuvers in five seconds."
Several indicators popped up on the Commander's console as everyone aboard CIC strapped themselves down to the closest seat and put the emergency acceleration helmets on, intended to protect their brains from the intense g-forces. The CIC itself was at the center of the ship, but everyone else on the other decks had to secure themselves before the thrusters fired. Four seconds. Three. Two. One.
"All decks secure for burn!" exclaimed the Chief of the Boat, and then a second later, several powerful thrusters on the destroyer's hull fired in opposite directions, turning it towards its relative right. It seemed to be aligning itself for a pursuit course, exposing less of its actual guns towards the frigate. The turn took a full minute to complete, and by that time, the alien craft was already on its way. A new contact had appeared as well, but it didn't look alien, and it could wait.
"All ahead flank, cavitate, cavitate!" came in the next order from the Commander, and the crew was about to commence the burn when the Kal'bavakorians decided to fuck up everything. They were sending out a message of peace. That made it a LOT harder to justify shooting them down: the Commander threw his headset at the wall in anger, turning to the ECM officer. "Where the hell are my countermeasures!?", to which the officer shook his head negatively. The ECM systems had not initialized yet, having been shut down to conserve fuel. "No go, skipper, thirty seconds to jamming capability."
Shit. The Commander considered the situation for a moment, and then turned to the executive officer. "XO, take care of the new arrivals, standard first contact protocol. I am going to handle the aliens."
With that, he grabbed the handset from the command table and pressed it against his cheek. The Coalition couldn't shoot down the enemy craft, but it could choke it down with bureaucracy and obscure regulations that nobody bothered to follow aboard Armistice. Soon, a transmission was sent to the Kal'bavakorian craft, in English: apparently the commander didn't want to do the aliens the honor of using their language. "Armed alien craft, this is the destroyer USS Gridley, HQ, United Systems Navy Armistice Detachment. You are currently attempting to access a secure zone without proper papers, without declaring your cargo and without contacting the Armistice station. As per Armistice Regulation eight two one seven niner dash charlie x-ray, all armed military vessels without Council credentials must submit to a weapons and cargo inspection prior to being allowed on Armistice. Power down your engines and prepare to be boarded." It was an obscene, century-old regulation that nobody even bothered with any more. But the law was the law, and it was on the Coalition's side.
"Inform the good Major that he will get his piece of the pie after all."
USS Gridley (DDG-101) Marine Detachment Barracks 4
The barracks, usually a lively place where a ship's Marines could rest, relax or have some fun, were surprisingly, almost eerily quiet. Normally, each barracks was a self-contained unit that could house fifty Marines. Instead, only twenty people were located in the barracks: twenty humans clad in pitch-black battle dress uniforms, some of them with matching berets. Their uniforms, aside from the usual United Systems flag patch, had another stranger patch: one of the planet Earth in dull dark blue, with the handle and the blade of a sword emerging from the top and bottom respectively. Three lines of text in a menacing console-styled font was written below the emblem.
SPECCOM 21st STAW, 1st Platoon 'Victory At All Cost'
Most of the soldiers were busy maintaining their weapons, mostly SCAR MK37 battle rifles and M242 machineguns, while some were fiddling with their peculiar power armor. In contrast with other USC armors, the one the SpecCom operatives had been given had more moving parts, and no real visor. The reflective material mounted to the front of the helmet was actually a sensor suite, with the soldiers within being shown the images taken by the various cameras mounted on the suit with a screen. Strange ribs adorned the chest of the suit, perhaps reactive armor plates, or other devices of a more advanced nature.
One man, however, was not partaking in the preparations. Although all members of the squad had multiple ribbons pinned to their uniforms, indicators of exemplary service and accomplishments, he had almost quadruple the number. His rank insignia declared him as a Major, but for all intents and purposes, he could be a General with all those commendations. He paced calmly around the room, watching his men and offering advice on occasion.
And then the phone mounted on the wall rung, and he almost ran to catch it. "Barracks." he exclaimed, throwing a quick glance towards the soldiers: all of them had stopped what they were doing and were staring at him.
"The mission is a go." came the reply from within, and after a brief 'Rodger that.', the man put the phone down and turned to face his men. "Suit up!"
Although the exchange between the two craft did not stop with the CCT's arrival, the USS Gridley was the first to respond to the Fuchtel's call. According to the optical telescopes, the ship appeared to be human in origin and as such the executive officer was not worried; humans had their differences, but in the end of the day, survival of the species usually came above all other considerations. And as such, no weapons were aimed at the new arrival: instead, a brief message in English was broadcast on an open channel. "DKM Fuchtel, DKM Fuchtel, this is the United Systems destroyer USS Gridley. We are currently in the process of dealing with an alien incursion, please contact Armistice Control for docking instructions, do not approach the alien craft. Gridley over and out."

[I]The group would move straight for the station, no weapons would be active past the point defense, Fuchtel of course leading the way. Fuchtel and Frankfurt would hang back as Bridget closed the difference with the station, the hull would slide open on the bottom as two drop ships zipped out into the expanse. They'd immediately go for the closest docking station on armistice, providing the two craft got all the permissions needed, they'd safely come to a stop, hovering in the hangars for a moment before dropping their landing gear and coming to a quick stop on the hangar deck. It'd take a moment before the craft hissed and the back doors opened, coming to a slow stop as the ramp extended onto the floor the first figures out disembark, human of course. The first drop ship would be filled with various cargo boxes, supplies for an embassy no doubt. Guarded by two troopers with a dragon emblem over the heart on their armour anyone requesting access would be denied without some kind of security clearance. The other ship would carry the personnel. Once the ramp went down one trooper would step out of the red light cargo bay, his black uniform adorned with the seal of the along gone AGSL over it's heart, unlike the rest of the group who would unload the items from the other drop ship this individual would report directly to the council floor, securing a desk for the Coalition. Soon after he'd be joined by the ambassador for the Coalition, Fräulein Eberstark, overseer of the coalitions military buildup in the past fifty years as well as the forerunner for the coalition to expand now and not later, to show she was truly dedicated she was volunteered to lead the diplomatic efforts with Armistice.
The CCT delegate and her escort sat silently, choosing to make a comment later, once their embassy had been set up.
They peered over the Council Chamber like vultures, speaking amongst themselves as was the norm with the New Terran delegates, the faces of whom seemed to change constantly as they were often recalled and replaced either as a result of power struggles or personal resignation. One face remained constant, however, and by the direction of his gaze it was apparent he held much interest in the arrival of the new representatives.
He appeared to be middle-aged and he looked the very model of dignity, his eyes shone with a piercing intelligence and it was clear he maintained his position through respect and probably even a small degree of fear.
He continued sizing up the Coalition Ambassador as the men around him spoke to one another seemingly unaware, whether he was trying to intimidate the woman or merely get a feel for her personality was unknown, but he continued to look nonetheless, his expression nonchalant.

Looking up from setting up the area for the Coalition, the Ambassador looked up and met the gaze with New Terran delegate. Her escort would look over too, but go back to standing silently. Two more delegates would join the first, the same escort staying with them. ____________________________
Newly Established Coalition Embassy. Armistice Station, 06G.
Though the finer details were still being put in place, the embassy would be functional, only one of the meeting rooms was operational as the other two were still being set up by the workers brought along. The Coalitions flag was already printed on the wall behind the receptionists desk and it was in the process of being printed on the security door. Outside two more of the solders seen in the cargo deck stood guarding the door. Any visiting terran nations would be granted access within for meetings, whereas anything non-terran was turned away with the excuse that preparations was not complete for the embassy to hold any meetings with new species.
D.K.M. Fuchtel
The destroyer would hold it's position with New Frankfurt far from the station, constantly monitoring the exchange between the USC and Kal ship. Anyone monitoring the ships comms would see it send a encrypted data packet out of the system, presumably back home. Only the most basic point-defense would be left on, the Coalition not wishing to take any risks.

The Familiar 'ambassador' turns its gaze over to the newly arrived delegation, its brightly shining eyepits eerily staring at the trio.

"Decrease thrust; keep us steady towards Armistice Station. Prepare for emergency boost in case the humans engage, but make sure our weapons are off."
"Aye, Lady Captain!"
While the Ambassador was handling communications with the human forces on Deck Five, Captain Shalla Van'Dal was left to make sure her fearful crew and powerful craft were not blasted into oblivion by the human Coalition. It was a terrible thing, to be crushed by the 'diplomatic arm' of the Alliance, and all the bureaucracy that followed. Hell, she didn't know a single Alliance soldier or crewman or woman aboard the "Peace Unto All" that wouldn't give a million credits to shove a Slot Sword through a humans innards. Speaking of such a matter..
The Captain cast a quick, illuminated glance over at the Tactical Officer; a Commander Visha Nat'Lu. The naval officer sat quietly in his seat; his helmeted head staring straight ahead as he checked, re-checked, and triple checked the many weapon systems aboard the frigate, as well as conversed quietly with his staff. He had a brother who had served at Station Alpha in the Teuffel Field. Why anyone thought putting a tactical officer who hated humans on a ship performing a diplomatic mission in 'human' space was a good idea was beyond her. Perhaps he would perform a dialogue she wasn't aware of.
Captain Shalla Van'Dul turned back to her command console; placing her hand upon the system to go through the situation inspection chart. It was really too bad.. She felt for her crew, especially those who had lost family or friends at Alpha. Hopefully, if they could get past these bash'tu humans, the remaining Council races could come to the aid of the Alliance, and bring reparations they so d-...
"Lady Captain! Incoming transmission from the Coalition craft to the Ambassador. Should I direct it to your HUD, as well?"
She nodded briskly; her previous thoughts leaving her for the situation at hand,"Yes, do so immediately."
She listened for a moment or so to the sound of the disgusting words of the humans, and knew they may have a situation at hand. With an angry look plastered upon her face, hidden from view because of her mask, she placed her hand upon the communications system for the Marine Barracks on Deck Three. The channel opened, and with a loud series of clicks from her mandibles, she spoke into the open channel..
"Commander Sergeant Vakir, I need your Marines prepped. We may have a boarding party coming our way.."
"Yes Lady Captain, I'll have my Marines ready. Is this a definite situation, ma'am? How much time do we have?"
++-"It's not definite yet, Commander Sergeant. If we're lucky, we'll get by no problem.. The Ambassador is a smooth talker. If not, we'll need your straight shooting."-++
"Understood. I'll be awaiting confirmation."
Commander Sergeant Vakir deactivated the channel on his console before turning around to view the Barracks. The Alliance Barracks were much like the Coalition Barracks on their own vessel; used for recreational events, preparing weapons, rest, etc. It was a big room, spherical in shape, and housed enough room for around twenty five Alliance Marines if fully staffed, which it was. Unlike the Coalition Barracks, though, the Alliance Barracks sported a hydration pool for the Marines; a pool of thick, cold water used to hydrate the amphibious Kal'Bavakorians as they worked out or were exposed to dry air.
Commander Sergeant Vakir was already dressed in his Korun Battle Armor, the helmet settled under one arm. He surveyed his Marines as they sat at the nearby table; enjoying a quick corral ration meal before what should have been a morning PT session in high gravity. His men and women all had their masks removed; the natural face tatoos, the mandibles and cheek fins, the luminous eyes of every soldier all visible to one another. In Kal culture, it was dishonorable and strange to show your face to a stranger, and especially to your enemy..
The fact their masks were removed was testament to their brotherly and sisterly nature towards one another. It would have made him smile somewhat, were the situation not so serious.
"Alright everyone, finish your meals and get your weapons and gear primed. I want everyone dressed and ready for possible contact in five minutes," Bellowed the Sergeant Commander.
With a loud series of confirmations, the Marines went from enjoying to shoveling their food down; their long tongues and mandibles tearing away at their meals. The Marines and their Sergeant weren't surprised about the sudden rush to gear up. Whenever humans were about, there always seemed to be trouble; it was becoming standard at this point.
The Alliance Frigate, still making its way towards Armistice, abit at a slower rate, would transmit a response back towards the Coalition destroyer. Although the Frigate has clearly heard the demands of the Coalition, it seems to be ignoring or dismissing them. Its engines were certainly not deactivated, and it was not at all prepared to be boarded.
Interestingly, the response is not a direct communication. Instead, it is transmitted across all channels. Clearly, the Alliance wants everyone, including those aboard the Armistice Station, to know what is happening. The transmission is relayed in accented, garbled English, and the speaker remains the same; a female of some importance onboard the craft.
++-"This is Ambassador Ba'Dun of the Alliance Diplomacy Corps. While the Alliance respects inter-galactic law; this vessel will not allow Coalition personnel aboard. The last time this took place, over two hundred Alliance civilians and military personnel were killed by human military forces..."-++
A pause.
++-"..Our weapons are deactivated, and we are more than happy to send you a manifest of our cargo and personnel. If you require this boarding, though, we demand that another interstellar specie perform the operation. Otherwise, we shall refuse boarding at this time. We only wish to join the galactic community, Coalition craft, and we mean no harm.'-++

He mouth formed a sly smile as he finally received the attention of the Coalition Ambassador, he held his arms out by his side as if embracing the air before giving a brief motion for her to approach his station.
He was acting on his own initiative which made him even more nervous but he soldiered on as he always had. His pitch black uniform almost blended in perfectly with the darkness of the Communications Room nestled deep within the Commonwealth's Embassy. He set his datapad on the table in front of him and with a few swift hand movements he had brought up the pertinent information. With a deep breath he too opened a global communication,
"This is Lieutenant Colonel Matthias Koppe, Commonwealth Security Force, I have personally received the appeals from the Alliance vessel and in accordance with the regulations so candidly cited by the USS Gridley I hereby formally declare the Commonwealth's intent to take command of the inspection duties and protocols in this particular situation, we have a small team easily capable of ensuring the security of the vessel in a timely manner and in a way that should equally diffuse the concern of both parties."He held up his datapad, "As we are an impartial nation diplomatically uninvolved in the affairs between the Alliance and the USC we ask that the Commander of the USS Gridley accepts our lawful demand to relieve his crew of this duty and we also cite the same regulation which further covers this exact situation, in the event of warfare or other hostilities between the mutual governments of the vessels in question the vessel obligated to undergo the inspection shall hold every right to demand an impartial nation perform the duty in place of the nominated security force. If the Gridley's Commander does indeed respect the law he will allow us to continue with the inspection unmolested and with his consent."
Check.

Eberstark would place down her first amendment to the council, leaving it on the desk under the care of the other two delegates. She would make her way across the chamber towards the Commonwealth delegates, going straight for the delegate who had been sizing her up. In a swift movement the ambassador would thrust her hand forward to shake.
"Ambassador Eberstark, representative of the Coalition of Cleansed Territories, descendants of the perhaps more familiar Anglo-Germanic-Swedish league. You are?".

As she approached the other diplomats ceased speaking and eyed her suspiciously as if they were some sort of rival gang in a dramatic confrontation, as the Ambassador shot her hand forward the Middle-Aged man gave a quiet chuckle before rising.
He lightly grasped her hand brought it higher to lay a kiss above the knuckle, an old Earth tradition revived in full by the New Terrans as another layer of noble protocol.
"I am Aleksander Opalinski, representative of the Commonwealth of New Terra, or perhaps we're still an Empire?"he smiled and shrugged.
"I leave it to the bureaucrats to puzzle out, regrettably your nation is not very well know to me and neither is this 'League' of yours but don't hold that against me, we Humans seem to forget our mutual histories past a certain date. For example, my descendants are of the 'more familiar' Sino Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, shuttles one through one thousand, but we can't hold that against each other, surely?"he sat and motioned to a nearby chair behind the Woman, it belonged to another delegate but he felt the conversation wouldn't last long.

The ambassador would receive the kiss on the hand with gratitude, she took the seat offered to her and listened diligently. Once he finished she would reply almost immediately.
"Going far enough back, we've found files indicating to that age old corporation. I can't say I'm surprised you haven't heard of the Coalition, we've had rather isolationist governments up until recently. No excuse to leave out home system. But times change and so does a nations goals. Do you think you could catch me up on any, recurring, topics within the council?".
