| Armistice Station. Located a couple hundred kilometers from the old Galactic Council, the Armistice station now serves as the new Council. A joint fleet of the participants of the Armistice council defends the station from any possible terrorist attack. The station itself is several decks large, holding living arrangements and offices for diplomats, as well as several quick response security team barracks. The main area, however, is the circular Council compartment, where hundreds of delegates discuss with their translators on current matters they feel need to be addressed. | |

| Several different races begin to gather in the main conference room, slowly making their way to the their seats. A low murmur of various grunts, gurgles, and barks from various different languages creates a dull roar around the room. As everyone begins to take their seats, a Zeleniyan diplomat takes the stage, standing before a podium. He speaks in a slow, deliberate tone, his Slavnok just barely heard under the translation of various different languages to the representatives before him.
"The Socialist Republic of Zeleniy has conducted a scientific mission in the 05 Golf sector, near the Tefeull mining field. This mission's goal was very simple: To estimate how much time, at the current rate of the joint nation's extraction of helium-3, we would have until this main source of energy would be depleted. The study, done fifteen times to gather a good estimate, has estimated an average time of 1.2 human years until depletion. Ladies and gentlemen, we -must- begin the search for a new source of energy immediately, or we will be in grave danger."

| With the Zeleniyian diplomat coming to a close, the CFP ambassador leans forward and she speaks into the microphone. "Maybe if the Republic of Zeleniy does not do all in it's power to stop scientific expeditions to the Talarin systems, there would be a larger pool of those willing to help. As members of the Federation's scientific community have found out almost three years ago, the Alarei had an alternate energy source at their disposal. But, the Zeleniys have been doing everything in their power in order to deny all and any attempts to gain authorizations for a Federal expedition into the system and the planet itself." | |

| So far, the United Systems' representative to the Council had remained silent... Which in itself was unusual. If there was one nation that could be characterized as interventionist, it was the United Systems, and its representative, Dwight Richards, was a man who always liked to have the last word. But then again, he wasn't just any politician: Dwight Richards had served three terms as the President of the United Systems Coalition, and before that had been the Secretary of Defense for the previous administration. The sixty four year old African-American looked older than his age, a symptom many Presidents displayed at the end of their terms, and the tiny bit of hair he had left had grayed badly.
But it wasn't because he had nothing to say, no. 'Old Man' Richards always had something to say about everything and everyone, often in not so flattering words. But he really had no way to chime in to the conversation because both options sucked. He could support the CFP ambassador, a reasonable option, but he really did not want the Zeleniyans to open up Talarin to more nations. The USC had already fought tooth and nail to maintain its outpost in the area, the last thing they needed was for all of that to go to waste and have them open up the system anyways. On the other hand, if he supported the Zeleniyans, he would just look like a hypocrite and imperialist all at once. Plus, he would be supporting the /Zeleniyans/, an act of political suicide by itself.
But ol' Richards was resourceful. He found a window to change the topic of the conversation, which had already bordered on shit-flinging at several times, and so he pulled the microphone towards him to speak.
"Even if the Talarin system was opened to the scientific community, there is no guarantee that such alternate technology will be discovered on it in a timely fashion. It's the first time I say this in a negative fashion, but we were very thorough when wiping out the Alarei. We need a more immediate solution, and we need it soon. We all have our differences here, God knows we would love to get the asteroid field to ourselves, but a fuel crisis of this scale would destabilize the entire interstellar economy. It would simply cost too much to transition to deuterium again after all these centuries, and a feasible antimatter power plant is still years away from implementation. The United Systems moves that all Council nations begin a collective effort of conserving helium isotopes to buy us valuable time to find another source."

| The bald, aged Zeleniyan leans to the side, pressing against his earpiece for a moment. He stands straight again and addresses the two,"Talarin is already open to -government endorsed and funded- scientific expeditions, after issued their Talarin expeditionary licenses. No privately owned or funded scientific communities may investigate, because we fear for their safety as they may be caught in crossfire between Zeleniyan peacekeeping forces and the several crime groups that are exploiting this lawless wasteland. If this makes for a slower scientific process, then it is a risk we must take from allowing more criminals to cart off whole cargo holds full of Alarei technology.
As for the eh.. alternate energy source, our scientists have found no such evidence. There are other important technological treasures hidden there, but this, we have not found. The Socialist Republic of Zeleniy is not satisfied with fairy tales of antimatter reactors and ancient power sources hidden in the ruins of Talarin."

| Bullshit. That's all that went through Octavian's head as he sat at his chair listening to these ambassadors bicker at each other. The Imperium had just begun sitting down at these meetings a short few years ago, and not out of particular liking either. No, Marcus Octavian was here for two reasons. The first, official reason, was that the Imperium was running extremely low on Helium-3, and their local pockets had almost all been depleted. Their empire was running on fumes and had to expand in order to meet their energy needs. The second reason, the one Octavian seemed to think was more justified, was their mission of intelligence gathering. The Imperium wanted to know everything it could before it made its next move.
Octavian was in his 70s, although, compared to a normal human, he would only look to be in his late 40s. His hair was graying, but his eyes were a bright icy blue that would seem to glow. Genetically engineered, and heavily augmented, Octavian would stand at about six feet and have an extremely well build physique, artificial as it is. He had served almost 20 years in the Navy, and then 20 more years in the Office of Military Intelligence before they selected him to be the Imperium's representative on this station. This was a job he did not want, but understood its importance.
Octavian knew Talarin held secrets, however he wasn't going to let those who weren't on the planet know that. The less foreign influence that was there, the better.
"Well, if there is nothing in regards to energy on Talarin, like you say, where would we even start? The galaxy is a large place Mr. Richards. Helium-3 is not easy to find, and alternate energy is hard to implement. The Imperium already uses as little energy as possible, and telling them that we must cut back will not ring to happy with my superiors."

| Dialogue from the Commonwealth's channels had been relatively muted, up until now. The Greater Commonwealth of Systems' representative, Wikus McKenzie, was nearing his sixtieth birthday and had spent the past thirty years working his way up through the nation's political rankings including four years as personal assistant to the former Prime Minister Rhys Bowerstone. With a well-trimmed head of charcoal shaded hair and similarly managed stubble, he wore a simple business suit with a tie and a pair of polished black shoes in an effort to keep up his appearance without seeming too vain.
Officially he was supposed to try and maintain neutrality in his approach towards the animosity between the Zeliniyans and the United Systems, though as far as he was personally concerned they were both a little frustrating to talk with for that matter. The proposal of opening the Alarei homeworld of Talarin to all manner of scientific expeditions had certainly raised a few eyebrows, not least within the Commonwealth which already maintained a small outpost in the middle of that hellish place. It was a symbol of what many viewed as the Commonwealth's greatest mistake which had ultimately led to the genocide of two peoples and the decimation of Earth, but now Talarin served as the only source of any remaining technology and scientific knowledge that the Alarei had left behind, and so he was somewhat uncertain about opening up the forbidden planet for every opportunist to bicker and fight over.
He certainly agreed with the United Systems on the matter of a looming fuel crisis. The Tefeull Mining Field was a vital source of Helium-3 for the vast majority of the interstellar nations including the Commonwealth itself. Like the oil of the 20th and early 21st Centuries, Helium-3 was a commodity that everyone needed and even more /wanted/ so whilst it could not be denied that Elizabeth had its own deposits of Helium-3 they had no intentions of exhausting their home supplies when there were others out there. Deciding the time of muted observation had been done, he spoke up with a slight Afrikaans accent.
"Whilst the Commonwealth agrees with the United Systems' motion to collectively conserve our deposits of fuel isotopes, the possibility of an alternative energy source existing within our reach has still yet-to-be-seen. The Tefeull Asteroid Field is not the only one of its kind, if we were to extend our reach as a collective we could quite easily discover another source within an appropriate amount of time."

| "That is asinine, if you do not think we have been looking for another Tefeull, you are foolish. The Tefeull is the only one of its kind. We need to look for an alternate source, and I believe a multinational expedition to the Talarin Systems is in order. The Zeleniyans only wish to bar entry due to the rumor that the Alarei had some sort of technology that could flawlessly bind machine and flesh, to withhold a scientific expedition for an alternate fuel source in order to preserve something menial enough to be discovered on their own. The CFP ambassador came to a close, taking a sip of water and keeping her gaze focused on the Zeleniyan Ambassador across the floor. | |

| The ambassador scowled visibly beneath his mask, his face muscles wrinkling up and his eyes glaring,"Your words not only insult the Socialist Republic but the USC as well, as their investigations into this alternate energy source has came up false. Two of the greatest countries on this council, and neither of their scientists found anything. And as I explained, there is a due process for allowing other nations to investigate, of which only the USC has applied, and been accepted I might add!" | |

| Dully noted, Ambassador. I will gladly take your money. However, I think it is time to move onto the next order of business. That being the recognition of the people of Zaa'Nabar as a Sovereign Nation rather than satellite state of Zeleniy." The CFP ambassador takes another sip of water, her left hand picking up a pen and writing down on the notepad in front of her, and her gaze still locked on the man at the podium. | |

The full brunt of an army of savage, technology fearing tribals with stolen Zeleniyan weaponry!"

| Octavian leaned back in his chair eyeing the two men bicker. He watched as important issues were glossed over for more personal ones, checking his watch every so often. He sat straight back up in his chair and shook his head.
"We really aren't accomplishing anything productive now are we? I think that we should at least try to work towards something of merit here. I have sources that inform me of a system with ancient technology left untapped. We should try to send resources there to see if they had something worth finding should we not?"

| "Can you please cite what development has occurred in Zaa'Nabar in the last decade since the insurgency? If I recall correctly, the entire point of counter insurgency operations is to separate the population from the insurgency. And from what I understand that is not happening due to the increased rebellion against this Zaa'Nabarian SSR." The Emissary comes to a halt, clicking her pen whilst waiting for a response. | |

| At another meeting, several days later, during a scheduled talk about the regulation of cloning techniques and eugenics, a Zeleniyan ambassador interrupts the discussion suddenly,"The Socialist Republics have an important matter to bring to the table." He wheezes, leaning into the mic, his Slavnok voice speaking into his microphone as it is translated into the headsets of the various ambassadors. He stares across the conference room at the UCFP ambassadors,"The UCFP has encroached on Zeleniyan territory for too long. Just last week we detained two members of UCFP military that were assisting in insurgent activites in Zaa'Nabaar. From them the evidence we have been gathering determining another nation is funding the insurgents points a clear finger at the UCFP. We will try them as traitors if their government does not take responsibility!"
He pauses, looking about the room, as he stands from his chair,"And now, from unfiltered reports from the Zeleniyan Tefuell battlegroup, the UCFP are charging headfirst into our mining fields! To the UCFP, I say to you, we will not falter. Turn your forces back now, or there will be grave consequences." He sends a seething glare towards the ambassadors.

| The UCFP envoy proceeds to clear her throat and take a sip of water, she beings. "Military operations in Zaa'Nabar are perfectly just, as we have evidence of several violations of Sentient rights on the planet. The insurgency is doing nothing but to regain their homeland and cease these violations of their basic rights. These violations are as followed, two counts of genocide, the unwanted genetic and mechanical altering of a race against their will, as well as forced reeducation against the native population."
The ambassador halts for a moment, using this time to take a breather and change topics. "As for 'charging head first,' if I do recall, this is a show of force towards the Zelenyians due to their aggressive expansion in the Tefuell, not to mention that their spy craft have violated UCFP air space on more than one occasion. We welcome it, Zeleniy."The last quip from the ambassador is sardonic and venomous, glares now being exchanged between the two envoys.

| The Imperial delegation rarely speaks, often preferring to talk amongst themselves and even mock other officials, most likely a consequence of the popular saying that the Empire was a 'galaxy in itself'. The few times the diplomats have actually spoken at Armistice was to forward their own nations agenda the most recent being their vivid claim that the Commonwealth in 08L was actually a long lost Terran colony and deserved to 'rejoin' the Empire, rhetoric they still maintain.
"I have been authorized by my government to release the following information," he touches the screen infront of him,
"Intelligence reports uphold that it was in fact Zeleniy which first engaged in acts of aggression in the Intergalactic Tefeull Mining Zone. Reports indicate subversion of preset borders by military vessels and even outright attacks on neutral territories dating back several months, I would remind the assembled officials here today that none of these nations are involved in any current state of war." he looks around the room before he issues his final statement,
"Furthermore, if these claims by the Federation are proven truthful I can see no further reason why there shouldn't be an immediate intergalactic peace process organized for Zaa'Nabar with investigations by unbiased officials to determine the accuracy of these heinous allegations" he sat allowing the other officials to mull over and respond to the information.
His sudden and brief words may have surprised some officials, but others would likely see this as nothing more than political theatrics and diplomatic posturing ordered by the diplomatic bureau to show support for the Federation as opposed to the ideologically inconvenient Zeleniy.

| The Zeleniyan ambassador goes grey and blue in the face, pointing an accusatory finger at both parties, his voice raised to the point of a yell,"We have liberated the Aranek from the shackles of tribal warfare and technological stunting. We are expanding our borders into the buffer zones of the mining areas to increase energy supply, therefore production output! The Socialist Republics will never back down, nor will we accept the oppression of the corporate-backed, private industries that your nations are corrupted by! I would advise you, sirs and madames, to re-evaluate your priorities! I know that some of you could look under your very coffee cup to see 'Made in Kuteznagrad'."
The ambassador brings his rant to a close, banging his fist on the table,"Communism will outlast Capitalism! We will bury you!"

| The Commonwealth's diplomatic representative cleared his throat rather noisily after a long period of silence on his end of the delegatin, before adjusting the collar of his business suit and addressing the other diplomats once more, his Afrikaans accent standing out slightly more than it previously had.
"Please, we must cease this bickering like children."
For a moment he glanced over towards the Zeleniyan Ambassador, before continuing.
"We are not here to discuss which political idealogy is the superior. Our purpose here is to ensure the mutual peace and benefit of our respective nations through diplomacy, so please - act like it."

| With war breaking out between the UCFP and the Socialist Republic of Zeleniy, sessions have been put on hold, and the security of the station has been ramped up. forces of the UCFP marine corps and army have been sent to the station to ensure the security of the citizens that reside there, as well as the Government interests. These men and women run security checkpoints and access control points in the Federal sector of the station.
Regional BND Field Office, Arimistice Station.
In the meanwhile of the security renovations, the Chief of the station's BND office as been focusing all of their assets on tapping Zeleniy telecom lines, as well as their general sector of the station.
"Hanreck, we don't have anything on the COMM lines, all seems to be quiet. The ambassador just ordered some really bad food from the food court over there."
"Well, keep listening. That's what you're paid to do, kid. Listen and report."
The station Chief walked out of the small backroom listening post in the main office of the station, there were cots and various living materials placed around the lobby, one of the marine officers waved him over. He was a Major and the OIC of the marines aboard the station.
"Chief, we got a problem."
"What is it, Major Krähe?"
"The Zeleniy Buricyzka are pretty damn good at being antagonistic to my men. Things are as fragile as it, and we are not going to lose any ground on this station, but I fear we do not do something about the main ACP, the stick will snap, and we will have a situation on our hands."
Hanreck nods along, sticking his hands in his pockets.
"Good order and discipline is the motto, ain't is Major?"
Without another word the station chief makes his way back into the back room of the station, to that little listening post. In the meanwhile, the two marines at the front entrance were smoking and shooting the shit, staring down one of the Zeleniy soldiers across the way, they scoffed and started to talk about them in their native tongue.

| The two Honor Guard marines on the other side loosely cradled their rifles over their chests. One of them leans over,"Hey, Oleg." His counterpart looks over slowly, shifting his rifles in his hands,"Yes, my friend?" The honor guard nods to the other end of the national office plaza,"I think 'Hans' is talking about us." 'Oleg' looks across the way, his gaze then drifting off to an ornate column,"I don't care, tovarisch." Dissapointed that his comrade would so carelessly toss away a possible conversation to whittle away their watch faster, he started another,"So did you see the GRU guys that came in to be the Ambassadors new guards? Don't talk to nobody, don't look at nobody. They only talk to you if you're in their chain of command." Oleg shrugs again,"Yeah. Creepy." Defeated, his watch stander counterpart sighs, turning away to admire some of the architecture of the space station.
A Zeleniyan political intern walks up with a tray from the food court and Oleg puts a hand out,"ID, and what's this shit?" Oleg says as he picks up a fork and taps a slap of meat, dropping the fork. The intern sighs, holding the tray with one arm as pulls out his ID and flashes it to Oleg,"You know it's me, come on. And I don't know, some bland American meatloaf shit." The marine nodded,"Why'd you order it then?" The intern forces himself through the two,"It's not me it's for the ambassador." He mutters under his breathe,"Asshole." As he walks into the airlock.

| Quite suddenly, with no prior introduction or notification, an enigmatic figure gracefully slides through a side-door of the conference complex, entering the hall with seemingly little intention of introducing itself. The individual, however, is a familiar one, having attended previous meetings on various occasions-- always alone and unguarded. He/she/it was known as the prime Familiar delegate, one of the few Familiar seen in the past age. Elegantly, he approaches his seat, apparently inattentive to the ongoing conversation. As the Familiar nears the table, his aesthetics become clearer. A large part of his body is covered in dark (albeit thin and transparent) robes, beneath which reside the metallic and mirror-esque mechanical suit, effectively reflecting the conference room and its inhabitants with its panels. The particular metal (and once again mirror-like) 'mask' of the figure is almost tribal in nature, carrying various ceremonial shapes with no apparent function but to impress aesthetically. However, the mask carries an odd aura to it-- something vague and arcane carried by its form, a feeling of existential sorrow and despair painted over its silvery surface. The 'expression' carried by the mask is that of hollow emptiness and departed existence; an impossible mixture of emotions, and yet, a lack of them altogether.
Interestingly, a certain dynamic 'twitch' is visible on the mask-- its variously shaped components mobilizing independently for what seems to be half a second each, to form differing 'expressions' of little productive meaning nor timely presence, almost as if uncontrolled by the being behind it. Collectively it can only be described as an uncomfortable and near-morbid sight of the aforementioned departed expression of the mask compulsively distorting into disfigured 'emotions' every few seconds, each for no more than half a second each.
The only thing that doesn't change are the mask's 'eyes': endless gaping pits of divinely white voids, beaming brightly as if emitting the purest of energies; those observing them nearly losing themselves in their confusing yet consuming apparatus. If anything, they feel lifeless-- but they are evidently not.
Calmly, the Familiar takes a seat, speaking no word; merely staring into the conference room, his gaze aimed at no-one in particular.
