The Columbus system, one of the many systems claimed by the various organizations fleeing the dying sol system. Unlike the many other organizations, Next Step, decided to take a different route and instead of claiming virgin land, brokered a deal with a relatively small space-faring species, going by the 'Leeri'. Standing at a average of seven foot, the Leeri sported a exoskeleton, suited to support their harsh desert environments on the planet of Okri. Leeri influence had faded in past years, heavily so after the Coalition had swept through the system. The remnants of the Coalitions presence were still present, in high orbit over the planet of Okri sat the almost intact husk of a Type 42 destroyer, but that was it for the space around the planet. Unlike the rest of the nations at play in the galactic stage, what was left of the super powers on Okri had not established space-faring ability once more. The clash of ideals had prevented any major alliances between the people left on Okri, when the Coalition came through it created great divides between the native Leeri and the human colonists, who had their own infighting to deal with.
New Rhodesia.
New Rhodesia, the continent on Okri with the highest populace of humans, it was truly deserving of its name. Close to the planets equator, it was roughly the size of Australia but tropical, with all the benefits of a tropic zone. It was the seat of the greatest human government on Okri, the Peoples Republic of Goma. A socialist state constantly butting heads with the Leeri Confederate. It was home to the largest metropolitan area on the planet. It was home to the planets supply of various minerals, from coals to diamonds. Not much use in the galactic stage but good for trading planet-wide.
Meinia.
The seat of the Leeri Confederate, the continent of Meinia was primarily dry. Desert stretched on, but it didn't matter much to the highly adaptable Leeri. The lesser fertile ground on the continent of Meinia was not enough to support a human population, but the survivalist Leeri were more than happy in their hot hell hole. Though it was not all to themselves, rouge human groups lived to the North in the barren cold peaks. Facing off against official Confederate troops, with their lack of worthy items to trade, the Leeri kept in the lead of planetary diplomacy through two means. Rampant jingoism and a vice grip on the only Helium 3 stores on the planet. Vital should the nations of Okri ever attempt to escape the bonds of their planets and enter the stage of space once more.
