So how does the galactic council seriously work? [Legislation]

Basically, as a new player, Its really difficult to see what my powers are in the galactic council. I.m going to reference the USC and the Nakars RP on Nakgari for a second here;

They talk about exercising their rights and they call each other out as wrong in front of the council, but where is like the; the galactic rule book. On matters like this it would be especially good for me to know where the limits are and arn't.

Well, I don't really know, but I just called everyone into a vote. The whole thing is pretty shambolic if I'm honest. I'd assume it has to do with gaining an over 50% majority for decisions to be made. Basically, because there's no character that acts as a speaker. Nobody can say who can pose questions and stuff like that, so essentially its up to players to bring up and discuss issues. I always assumed if it led to two players crossing over in argument it would make for more active RP anyway cause there'd be more posting.

The way it was handled previously in ATS is that it's quite similar to the real world United Nations, each nation choosing to sit receives representation and easier access to other nations for purposes of diplomacy meanwhile resolutions can be passed and discussed and conflicts would naturally be under scrutiny and both powers but through the pressures to engage in a peaceful dialogue to resolve the situation without further escalation.

There is also a concept that still exists I'm assuming of another similar parallel to the UN wherein there are major nations part of a 'Security Council' which also operates similar to it's real world counterpart.

I'll speak with Eyes and co. later to try and hammer out solid concepts that can be used for Armistice to solidly define it's capacity, meanwhile I'm going to create some RP for it soon with the growing genocidal civil war I have cooking up in the 'Tranquility' threads.

Yeah I think like, the rights of nations should be different as in security councils and stuff, but maybe there should be a few more differences, like regional powers and stuff like that. But I feel that there have already been a lot of RP slip-ups when a nation should have known its rights before jumping into some RP at the behest of not knowing what the hell the consequences are lol.

There are no set laws. The laws are created by the Council, which is made up of all yall. You guys make the laws, so if no laws have been made, then species are spitting bullshit..
