Advanced Navel Shielding – The Confederate Star Fleet is widely considered to the first line of defence against attacks on the Confederacy’s territories and economic interests. For that reason, much research has been undertaken to improve and maintain the offensive and defensive abilities of the Confederate naval forces. The result of this has been major breakthroughs in increasing the shielding abilities of the confederate naval vessels, which is hoped will decrease losses among the Star Fleet if the confederacy is embroiled in a war sometime in the future.

Laser-based Weapon Systems – The Adaptation of energy based weaponry has proved advantageous and has been a stable of the confederacy’s military for many years now. Laser weaponry offers advantages not available in other weapon systems and continues to aid the confederate military in destroying its enemies. Although more expensive to manufacture than typical weaponry, the confederacy’s vast wealth and strong industrial base ensures a steady supply for its troops and ships.  

Advanced Ship Armour – Coming about as a result of the Confederacy’s experiences in several of its trade wars with its neighbours. Advanced armour has become a common site within the Confederate Star fleet. Comprised of a combination of reactive armour along with advanced metals, the new armour pattern has drastically reduced the losses of ships within the Confederate naval forces.

Advanced Commerce - The Trading and Banking systems within the Confederacy are some of the most advanced throughout the Galaxy, and have helped a great deal in the continued prosperity of the Saphrithid nation. The Confederate’s trade network is supported by wealthy territories from which to trade from along with the experience and ingenuity of its corporate leaders, who strive to get the best deal no matter the situation. The Banks within the Solar Trade Confederacy are some of the largest and most renowned banks in the galaxy. They cater to millions of customers across the galaxy and offer Hugh sums of money to businesses and governments alike. The banks maintain a strict policy of neutrality to galactic affairs and are protected by several Confederate laws to maintain this situation.

Economic Powerhouse – Thanks to its rich territories and strong industry, the confederacy is a strong nation with a strong economy to support it. Massed production is possible due to the strong industrial base of the Confederation and products for consumer and foreign use are widely available and in plentiful supply. All levels of the military are also well supplied and equipped to deal with any threat.

The Saphrithids are a sturdy and tall pink skinned humanoid race which can grow to an average height of around five or six feet tall. They have gender specific organs and reproduce through intercourse which results in a gestation period of ten months and then birth. Biologically both males and females of the species are naturally muscular, with their upper bodies primarily the neck region containing a substantial portion of the body’s muscle. This is primarily due to their large and powerful canine like jaws, which serve as a source of pride and also as a defensive tool if needed. The Saphrithids are an oxygen breathing species and have large ridged skulls along with several antennas (usually numbering in around five or six) which grow out of them. The antennas act as an emotional indicator of the individual Saphrithid; slow movements show happiness at a situation, fast movements show anger etc.

Culture:

Saphrithids are a naturally greedy, hard-headed and scheming race. Wealth and the acquisition of it; is the primary driving force of the vast majority of the species, resulting in many of the species pursuing this goal with an almost sicking determination. Wealth determines an individual’s place in society, as well as also representing their accomplishments. Saphrithids are defensive of their wealth and will do their up-most to ensure that it is used wisely, may that be in proper investment or making sure a marriage will prove useful for themselves and their partners.

The cultural landscape of the confederacy is dominated by the corporations and the other financial institutions dominate within Saphrithid society. The corporations are Hugh money-making organisations that employ the majority of the civil population of the confederacy. They have many branches and sub-branches which are involved in countless money making and productive areas throughout the galaxy. The corporations can trace their linage back to before the writing of Saphrithid modern history, when many of them were large and powerful family houses, which ruled large tracts of territory. Today many of them are now simply nothing but businesses, but several of the corporations still maintain their family values and leadership to this day. Second to the power of the corporations are the banks, some of the largest money lenders and finical institutions in the galaxy. They have customers and investments throughout the galaxy and for the sake of business, operate a strict policy of neutrality. The Banks will lend or secure any individuals money as long as they follow their strict terms and conditions.  

Saphrithids are an intelligent species that place great deals of emphasis on education and knowledge. Education is widely available within the confederacy and even the most humble Saphrithid has a decent level of education. Some of the finest educational institutions in the galaxy exist within the confederacy and only the finest minds may be accepted into them. The universities also act as a recruiting ground for the corporations and military, ensuring that the finest minds are available where they are needed the most.

There is also a great deal of natural ingenuity within the species and this has led them to make large scale accomplishments in the areas of galactic business and science.   

The language of the Saphrithids is a soft spoken and refined language that betrays their rather bestial appearance. It is spoken primarily within the territories of the confederacy but for business purposes, the Saphrithids will try and learn the languages of the individuals they are dealing with.

Homeworld Description:

The Saphrithid homeworld of Ema Planeedil is a mountainous planet consisting of cold temperatures and large mountain ranges. The planet is made up of two large continents which are separated by a single large ocean. In the past the Saphrithids lived underground or cut their homes into the rock, now their living areas have expanded greatly resulting in vast sections of the planet being turned into large sprawling metropolises. The planet is naturally rich in gemstones and expensive metals, large mining operations take place within the crust of the planet, bringing forth much wealth for the confederacy. In the northern continent an advanced research facility called “Tume Aine” has been recently constructed. It is the first of its kind and is currently being used to test and research previously unexplored areas of scientific thought.

Political System:

Corporatocracy is the current form of government within the Confederacy. The leaders of the leading corporations form a leadership council where they then deal matters of state and other related issues. The decisions of the council are usually heavily influenced by the acquisition of wealth and the needs of the corporations that they represent. Very often the council will turn their backs on the needs of the citizen and focus on economic expansion. All aspects of the Confederacy’s society, except for the military, are subject to their rule. The government is supported by the vast and efficient Bureaucracy which aids the government in its ruling of the Confederacy. The Bureaucracy of the Confederacy has been compared to a large lumbering Kraken, it rarely misses anything and its effects are felt throughout the Saphrithid nation. It has such a large presence within the state, that the image of the Bureaucracy has become heavily associated with the Galaxy’s image of the Saphrithids.

The military of the STC is officially the only part of the Confederacy that is under partial government control. This reality originates in the founding of the state, as the need to have a strong unified military not weighed down by corporate interference or red tape was a necessary need for the newly founded nation. The Solar Marshal, the head of the military; sits on the ruling council and has the right to veto any of the council’s major decisions regarding the use of the military. This can occur if the Solar Marshal believes that it will be detrimental to the state of the armed forces. However, there has been few occasions where this happens.  

Top Ten Leading Corporations within the Confederacy:

History:

The Saphrithids species began their existence as nothing more than a humble tribe people living on the southern continent of the planet. They spent countless generations scraping a meagre living on the mountain sides and rocky landscape of their home. As the centuries passed they reproduced, learnt and began to tunnel into the mountain side in an attempt to better living standards for themselves. Over the years their simple mountainside homes grew from primitive cave dwellings, to large and impressive mountainside holdings that stretched on for miles into the mountains and the underground areas. As the species dug, gem stones and other valuable metals where discovered. The Saphrithids coveted these jewels above all else and began extracting them from the rock. It was from this process that individual kingdoms grew out of their respected territories and communities, each one of them became determined to defend their wealth from outsiders. This turn of events brought on a period of isolation, with each newly found nation refusing to talk to one another. Jealous and paranoia quickly set in as each nation believed that the other where moving to steal their wealth. A period of brutal War quickly erupted which to last many years and leave hundreds of thousands dead.

The war eventually ended with the intervention of the renowned Warlord Luukas Kuusak, the founder father of a united Saphrithid nation. He invited all leaders of their respective territories to an assembly, there he implored them to stop their petty and unite under one flag. He argued that more finical gain could be achieved if they worked together rather than kill each other. Months of discussing ensued and many times war threatened to begin again.  However, Luukas triumphed and all leaders agreed to band together in the newly created “United Territories”.

Peace lasted for generations and great achievements were made in technology and other fields. Colonies where established on the Northern Continent and over time they thrived and grew like their sister cities in the south. The ruling families that initially made up the United Territories eventually began to give way to Corporations, organisations solely created for gaining financial profits. Some of these new-found organisations kept the old ruling class in positions of power, while others simple done away with them. A few Warlords that resided in the rich eastern territories refused to conform to this new movement and kept themselves and houses in charge. These Warlords later became the founders of the first Saphrithid banks, several of which still survive to this day.

However as the Saphrithid people advanced into the modern age a crisis occurred. The corporations on the Northern Continent refused to adopt the new paper currency called the “Uus” and instead where determined to keep with the old currency the “Vana”. When the United Territories (in fact just the southern continent) threatened military action if the North did not conform and instead took the response of ceding from the union. The South launched military operations and the north responded in kind. The war lasted a short six months and ended with the destruction of the Union and the creation of two separate states with a strong resentment for one another. The South joined together into the Trade Confederacy and the Northern Corporations created the Economic Federation.

Two separate nations with different ideals and goals developed on the planet. The Federation become solely focused on the exploitation and exploration of the planet for riches and resources, resulting in some largest deep mining operations in Saphrithid history. The Confederacy on the other hand, with the development of space travel, began to look to the stars for more riches. Along with these developments a military build-up began to take place between bother sides. The tensions and hatred of the Six-Month war and its aftermath we’re still present within the minds of both countries and helped to fuel the growing military build-up.

First attempts at moon mining resulted in a Hugh boom of resources for the confederacy and their wealth shot up dramatically as a result. The Federation jealous at the new found wealth of their rivals, began the process of massing their military forces for an invasion. The goal was to finally reunite the planet, knock out their economic rival and reform the union. The Federation launched its invasion on the anniversary of the Confederacy’s first space flight and so began one of the most destructive wars in Saphrithid history.

The so called “Great War” lasted ten years and took place across the entire globe. The war was bloody, costing millions of Saphrithid lives and it was synonymous with trench warfare on the high mountain ranges of the planet and CQC fighting deep underground in the vast network of Saphrithid cities. Large scale Ariel engagements also took place, with hundreds of fighters engaging each other in battles high in Ema planeedil’s atmosphere. The war eventually ended in victory for the Confederacy, due mainly to their heavy use of space born weaponry.  

With victory achieved the Federation was absorbed into the Confederacy and large scale reconstruction took place across the planet. When enough years had passed, the Confederacy looked to the stars once again and conducted large scale operations and colonization within its solar system. The Trade Confederacy was reformed into the Solar Trade Confederacy and continued its expansion both economically and territorially.

The Saphrithids first contact with an Extra-terrestrial species was during the Second Interstellar war. Seeing a chance for mass profit the Saphrithids sold all combatants weapons and other equipment,along with establishing many trade outpost. The Saphrithids profited handsomely from the engagement and after the war ended in near destruction for all those involved; the Saphrithids retreated back to their territories and began embedding themselves in Galactic trade and business. This has been the status-quo for the STC for years now and they are determined to continue their drive for profit and advancement.

Military Specifications:

The military of the Solar Trade Confederacy is a well-trained and efficient military force, primarily responsible for the protection of the Confederacy’s galactic wide territories and the wealth that they produce. The military is comprised of the Confederate Ground Forces and the Confederate Star Fleet; both are purely professional forces as conscription and the idea of it is non-existent within the Confederacy. It is a largely defensive military force with doctrines such as defence in depth forming a large part of Saphrithid military thought.

The Confederate armed forces enjoy the trait of being well armed with the latest equipment and weapons. The vast wealth of the Confederacy goes to supporting its military and ensures that it has the ability to destroy its enemies and defend its interest at home and abroad. Although service in the armed forces is a somewhat respected career in the Confederacy, a large majority of the population prefer to work in other sectors of work. This has resulted in a large section of the Confederate armed forces being comprised of foreigners. Approximately 30% of the armed forces are made up of foreign nationals, drawn from across the galaxy to the confederate armed forces for the offer of citizenship and a decent rate of pay.

History: Born the heir of a vast business empire, Ledia Zaar was expected from a young age to succeed her father when the time came. She instead however, grew an interest in serving within the Confederate military and signed up once she became of age. Her father quickly disowned her but if Ledia cared, she gave no visible sign. Quickly showing herself as an excellent officer and keen strategist Ledia rapidly rose through the ranks and became the first female Solar Marshal just shy of her fifty fourth Birthdays. Ledia had now served in the position for four years now and so far has shown herself as a capable in the duty’s that the role demands.

The Issue has been sorted. I've replaced the tech tag with Advanced Plasma Weaponry along with combining and adding several new ones.

One remaining issue is that the definition of the term 'plasma weaponry' has not been given yet by the administration team, and you might not like its Amongst the Stars application; in that case, you may exchange that technology tag for something else, as long as it's approved by the administration.
